NWIBQ News LogoMICHIGAN CITY – Lubeznik Art & Artisan Festival (LAAF) features the best contemporary art galleries, artists, and artisans from the region, plus an exciting music lineup, food and art happenings all weekend long!

Now in its 36th year, Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) “Lubeznik Art & Artisan Festival” attracts thousands of shoppers and art enthusiasts to Michigan City's North End. Held on the third weekend in August, this festival features contemporary art, artist activations, family activities and food. It draws repeat visitors from Chicago, South Bend and Northwest Indiana, as well as Michigan's nearby ‘Harbor Country' communities. The festival, which was presented off-site for many years, is now held on the LCA grounds to immerse festival-goers in the LCA experience and to help visitors connect with our mission more effectively.

The mission of LAAF is to celebrate and foster the appreciation of a dynamic array of contemporary artists and artisans through the exhibition and sale of art in a festival setting. LAAF serves as a major fundraiser for LCA with proceeds supporting our exhibitions, programs and educational outreach across the region throughout the year.

All proceeds from LAAF are invested back into the Michigan City community through artistic and educational programs LCA provides year-round. The Michigan City Public Art Committee (MAC) is helping LCA make the arts more accessible in the community through their generous sponsorship that provides free tickets to After-School Program families.
