A little more than a year after becoming affiliated with Purdue University Northwest, the Society of Innovators will present its 20/20 Vision plan to boost innovation in the Region.
The plan will be revealed at the organization’s annual event Nov. 21 at Purdue Northwest’s Westville campus, 1401 S. U.S. 421 in Westville.
“At our 2018 event, we announced the Society of Innovators’ partnership with Purdue University Northwest,” said Jason Williams, assistant director of the Society of Innovators at Purdue Northwest. “Our team is excited to finally share all of the new programs and projects we’ve been working on that will further drive innovation across Northwest Indiana.”
The event, “Celebrate Northwest Indiana Innovation!,” will feature Purdue Northwest Chancellor, Thomas Keon; Dwayne Walker, co-founder and owner of Chicagoland Popcorn; Gary Johnson, president of Mortar Net Solutions and chair of the board of directors of the Society of Innovators at Purdue Northwest; Sheila Matias, executive director at the Society of Innovators; and Jason Williams, assistant director at the Society of Innovators.
Purdue Northwest said the goal of the event is to celebrate Northwest Indiana’s innovation community by bringing together the makers and shakers that drive the Region forward. The society also will announce a new Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize an individual’s career accomplishments, legacy and impact.
The Society of Innovators was established in 2005 and previously was affiliated with Ivy Tech Community College. When Ivy Tech ended its affiliation, Purdue Northwest signed a collaboration agreement with the organization in August 2018.
