SCHERERVILLE – Ground has been broken for Residences at Deer Creek, a senior living community at Deer Creek Professional Park. The 2.4-acre site will be home to 86 private assisted living and memory care units covering 80,000 square feet. The units are expected to open in the fall 2012.
MERRILLVILLE – Modern Forge Co. of Blue Island, Ill., has announced it is moving to a site on Colorado Street in Merrillville. MICHIGAN CITY – Vanair Manufacturing Inc. is expected to announce soon that it will invest $1 million to expand its manufacturing plant by 30,000 square feet. The project is expected to add 20 jobs.
