MICHIGAN CITY – KTR Corp., a manufacturer of power transmission components, will invest $1.6 million to upgrade its Michigan City operation on Anchor Road. The company will install new computer equipment and machinery, and upgrade its 42,000-square-foot warehouse and production plant.

The German-based company, which has 43 employees, said the project should be completed in 2013 and would add 20 jobs by 2014. KTR is a subsidiary of KTR Kupplungstechnick GmbH.

“We chose Indiana because we have been located here for over 20 years,” said William T. Ketcham, president. “Our objective is to manufacture products of the highest quality, provide superior service, product availability and expert technical assistance at the lowest possible cost to our customers.”

Founded in 1988 in Michigan City, KTR supplies nearly 80 percent of all couplings for wind turbines worldwide.
