Ratner Steel will build at Port of Indiana

PORTAGE – Ratner Steel Supply of Minnesota has announced it will build a 100,000-square-foot building at the Port of Indiana to product cut-to-length steel products. The company will buy coil steel from area mills.

The building is expected to be completed by the end of this year with production to begin in 2013. By 2014, Ratner said it could employ 40 people.

Portage officials provided a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
