KOUTS – Leggett and Platt Inc. has announced it is moving part of its Kentucky operation to its 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Kouts. The company manufactures residential furnishings and commercial fixtures. Because of the move, the company will invest $275,000 in the Kouts operation, one of six it has in Indiana. MICHIGAN CITY – Geisen Funeral Homes of Northwest Indiana has acquired Carlisle Funeral Home in Michigan City. Carlisle has operated in Michigan City for more than 50 years. It will now be known as Geisen-Carlisle Funeral and Cremation Services. Geisen is based in Crown Point and has been in business for 145 years.
MICHIGAN CITY – United Technologies, the parent company for Sullair Corp. of Michigan City, has announced it may sell the company as a way to raise cash for another acquisition.
