Ronnie Strain is the new director of operations at Hammond-based Korellis.
He will oversee the daily operations of the company, including the four trades it offers: roofing, sheet metal, masonry and carpentry. He also will help develop and support leaders and their crews in the field. He is tasked with “implementing efficient workflows to maximize performance and productivity.”
Strain previously was an operations manager for a home improvement center.
The company also promoted longtime employees Phil Junge to director of sales, and John Zamojski to quality and training manager.
Junge started at Korellis in 1997 as a roofer and became a foreman six years later. In 2005, he became an estimator and project manager. Then in 2016 he was promoted to commercial estimator, and then a few years ago, a senior commercial estimator.
Zamojski has been with the company for almost 10 years as a carpenter and then a steep slop estimator and project manager.
Korellis was founded in 1960 and is employee owned. Pete Korellis joined his father's roofing business in the mid-1980s and expanded it to commercial and industrial clients, according to the company website.
“Seeing our company employees doing well in life, buying homes, sending kids to college, retiring – just being able to watch our people grow and develop is extremely gratifying,” said Pete Korellis, chairman of the board. “There is nothing more honorable that a business can do than to employee people – pay them good wages and give them good benefits so they can provide a good living for their families.”
He retired as CEO earlier this year after an eight-year transition to an ESOP, according to Roofing Contractor.
John Ziolkowski, who has been with Korellis for 12 years, is CEO. He served as president since April 2021. Julie Tattersall, who has been with the company since 2009, is vice president of operations.
Korellis earned the 2021 Master Contractor Silver and Inner Circle of Quality Awards by Firestone Building Products Co.
