Methodist Hospitals to honor Mamon Powers Jr.

Gary-based Methodist Hospitals will recognize Mamon Powers Jr. at the Methodist Hospitals Foundation gala June 1.

Powers will receive the Methodist Hospitals Champion medal. The recently established award honors individuals whose have shown dedication and service to Methodist Hospitals. The award recognizes key supporters who have helped further Methodist Hospitals’ health care mission.

In addition to civic and philanthropic contributions to the Region, Powers has continued his family’s service to Methodist Hospitals. The legacy of service began with his father, the late Mamon Powers Sr.

Mamon Powers Jr. has served in multiple leadership positions at Methodist Hospitals. His roles have included chairperson of Methodist Hospitals board of directors, committee chairperson of its finance committee, board member of Methodist Hospitals Foundation and life advisory member of the hospital’s board.
