Merrillville-based White Lodging started construction on its 13th hotel in Austin.
The hotel and restaurant developer is partnering with REI Real Estate to open Hotel Trinity, Autograph Collection. The 13-floor hotel will have 258 rooms.
“Austin is an essential part of White Lodging’s past and future growth,” said Jean-Luc Barone, White Lodging’s chief executive officer, in a press release. “In addition to this significant investment in Hotel Trinity, we are reinvesting in our existing hotels and restaurants, including massive improvements at the Westin Austin Downtown and J.W. Marriott Austin Downtown.”
The hotel's completion is expected in two years. It will include a rooftop pool, fitness center, social club and 6,000 square feet of meeting space. A first-floor restaurant will offer seafood and other fine dining cuisine.
The development team includes PFVS as lead architects, DPR Construction as lead contracto, and FlickMars Hospitality as interior designer.
White Lodging, founded in 1985 by Bruce White, has a portfolio of 60 hotels and 50 restaurants in major cities, including Austin, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, Indianapolis, and Louisville.
