MICHIGAN CITY —The 6th annual Ride the Wave Regatta will be taking the waves on Saturday, September 7. The event, organized by the Northwest Indiana Paddling Association, offers a 19.3-mile marathon course and an 8-mile short distance course.
Participants in surf skis and sea kayaks competing in the 19.3-mile downwind marathon course along the southern shores of Lake Michigan will begin at Marquette Park in Gary and end at Washington Park in Michigan City. The one-way race will award $850 worth of prize money to the top three finishers in this division.
Spectators are invited to watch as participants begin the 19.3-mile marathon at Marquette Park at 10:00 a.m. Racers participating in the short distance course will launch at Washington Park at 10:30 a.m. Parking at Washington Park will cost $7 per car.
