Caroline Schrenker is Porter County Community Foundation’s new director of operations.

“We are so pleased to have Caroline join our team,” said Bill Higbie, president and CEO of the foundation, in a press release. “Her extensive expertise and experience on the local and regional level will be an excellent fit for our mission to help individuals and organizations make a lasting difference in Porter County.”

Schrenker most recently was the executive director of advancement operations at Valparaiso University. She also has higher education leadership experience with Indiana University Northwest. Schrenker worked in community outreach with the Chicago Bears Football Club for almost 30 years. She continues to serve on the board of directors for their charitable works.

As director of operations, Schrenker will be responsible for facility operations, grant and scholarship leadership, and working with donors. She will play a key role, linking Porter County Community Foundation’s grant and scholarship efforts with administration functions.

Schrenker’s favorite part about the Porter County Community Foundation is “having the privilege to collaborate with amazing community leaders and partners who continue to make a profound impact on Porter County and its residents.”

Schrenker’s bachelor’s degree is from Lake Forest College, and she earned her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

The Valparaiso-based Porter County Community Foundation was founded in 1996. The foundation collaborates with community members to support their favorite causes by creating and managing permanent endowment funds. The organization’s mission is to strengthen the community through generosity and leadership.

Porter County Community Foundation has awarded more than $37 million in grants and scholarships to organizations and students in the Region.
