Leah Curry is the new president for Toyota Motor Manufacturing – Indiana.
Curry’s appointment is effective Oct. 1 and follows the recent decision by Millie Marshall, who serves in the role now, to retire Nov. 1 after more than 28 years with the company.
Curry has been with Toyota for more than 22 years. She most recently served as president of Toyota’s manufacturing site in West Virginia. She has held several manufacturing positions with the company, including a vice president role in Indiana.
In her new role Curry will be responsible for all production and administrative functions at the company’s Indiana site.
Toyota also announced Srini Matam, who was most recently was general manager of the drivetrain division at the company’s West Virginia site will take over for Curry.
Toyota’s Indiana manufacturing facility, which operates as part of the Japanese automaker’s North American operations, is in Princeton in southwestern Indiana and employs more than 5,400 people. The plant produced more than 422,000 vehicles in 2018, including Toyota’s Sequoia sport utility vehicle; Sienna minivan; and Highlander SUV, both the regular and hybrid versions.
