LAPORTE – The 11th annual Tour de LaPorte bike, run and walk event sponsored by the LaPorte Hospital Foundation will be Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25 and 26. The event benefits local cancer patients.
On Saturday, the event includes a half marathon, chip-times competitive run, a 10K chip-time competitive run, a 5K chip-times competitive run and a 5K non-competitive walk. All events begin and end at Soldiers Memorial Park in LaPorte.
Tour de LaPorte also includes a cycling event with routes ranging from five to 100 miles on Sunday. All events begin and end at Soldiers Memorial park with participants riding throughout LaPorte County in the morning and afternoon.
Proceeds benefit Indiana University Health LaPorte and Starke hospitals’ patients with cancer and in need of financial assistance. Last year, the event raised more than $55,000. For more information or to sign up, call (219) 326-2471.
