Andrea Short named president of 1st Source Corp.

South Bend-based 1st Source Corp. announced the promotion of Andrea Short to president.

Short will continue her role as president and CEO of 1st Source Bank in addition to serving as president of 1st Source Corp. The corporation is the bank’s parent company.

“I love 1st Source because we are a community bank focused on the success of our neighbors, our colleagues, our clients and our shareholders,” Short said in a press release. “ I am excited to lead our team as we continue to serve our communities well.”

Short has 40 years of banking experience. She joined 1st Source Bank in 1998 as tax director. During her tenure with 1st Source, Short has served as vice president and controller, senior vice president, CFO and principal accounting officer, executive vice president, president and CEO.

A certified public accountant, Short earned her bachelor’s degree from Alma College in Michigan. She completed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business’ Chicago Management Institute and Northwestern University Business School’s executive marketing program. Short graduated from the Harvard Business School’s advanced management program.

Short has been involved with multiple community organizations. She serves on the board of the South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership. Short also serves as treasurer and secretary of the Medical Education Foundation.

Christopher Murphy previously served as 1st Source Corp. president. Murphy will continue as the chairman and CEO of the corporation.

“(Short) is a proven leader who believes in our mission of helping our clients achieve security, build their wealth and realize their dreams,” Murphy said. “Andrea brings knowledge, history and years of strong performance to her new position.”

1st Source Bank has 78 banking centers throughout northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. The bank was founded over 160 years ago.
