Samahon joins Medicaid committee

Neil Samahon has been appointed to serve on the Family and Social Services Administration’s Medicaid Beneficiary Advisory Committee.

Samahon is president and CEO of Valparaiso-based Opportunity Enterprises.

The advisory committee plays a role in the broader Medicaid Advisory Committee. The committee will provide feedback on current and proposed program policies to help shape the future of a Medicaid program that is effective, sustainable and accountable.

The Beneficiary Advisory Committee is composed of current Medicaid recipients or their family members/caregivers. Samahon has a daughter who has a developmental disability. She is an employee of Do Goodies, a social enterprise of Opportunity Enterprises that empowers individuals of all abilities through meaningful employment.

“I’m honored to serve on the Beneficiary Advisory Committee and bring the lived experience of families like mine to the table,” Samahon said in a press release. “I hope to provide valuable perspective and feedback that can help shape the future of Medicaid programs.”
