GO Electric Vehicle Indiana: Discover, Ride, Inspire Vehicle Electrification Series will make a stop in Michigan City on Oct. 26 to explain the importance of EV transportation.

The event from 8 a.m. to noon at the Michigan City Farmers Market, 125 W. 8th St. will feature a Michigan City Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for an EV station. The morning will include funding updates, giveaways and opportunities to test drive the latest EV models courtesy of local dealerships.

Drive Clean Indiana partnered with Michigan City's sustainability commission, the planning department and redevelopment commission to bring the series here.

GOEVIN: DRIVES is visiting municipal planning organizations to help them plan for sustainable transportation in the future. The initiative is funded by funds allocated from the Indiana Volkswagen Mitigation Settlement to improve the state's network of EV charging stations.

The GOEVIN team includes the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the Indiana Utility Group, and Drive Clean Indiana.

Drive Clean Indiana also will host the 2024 Renewable Energy & Advanced Clean Transportation Expo on Nov. 19 through 20 at Blue Chip Casino's Stardust Event Center, 777 Blue Chip Dr. in Michigan City.
