Award recipients and their nominators will be recognized during the E-Day luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at Avalon Manor in Merrillville. The luncheon attracts 300 of the Region's most prominent economic leaders and business owners.

Nominations in the following categories will be taken until Aug. 30:

  • Small Business Person of the Year
  • Entrepreneurial Excellence
  • Small Business Exporter
  • Emerging Small Business
  • Minority Small Business
  • Family-Owned Business
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Small businesses are eligible to be nominated if they are located in the seven-county area of Northwest Indiana: Lake, Porter, La Porte, Starke, Jasper, Pulaski and Newton counties. They also mush have a three-year track record of growth in sales or employees and have potential to grow.

Last year's winners included Linda Woloshansky, who earned a Lifetime Achievement Award. She is now retired from the Center of Workforce Innovations in Valparaiso.

The NW-ISBDC serves as a resource for new and existing businesses and entrepreneurs.
