University of Saint Francis officials say it’s time for a new logo for the college.
The college launched a competition and seeks entries for a new logo. The current logo has been used for 23 years and university officials say a new design will help usher in a new era.
The competition not only seeks a new university logo but new university monogram as well.
A $5,000 grand prize will be awarded in each category.
“This is an exciting time to be part of the University of Saint Francis,” said Rev. Dr. Eric Albert Zimmer, USF president. “We expect to receive a wide range of submissions for the competition, tapping into the creative minds of the USF community and beyond.”
The competition is open to anyone. USF encourages students, faculty, staff and alumni to participate.
Entry deadline is Feb. 25. Applicants interested in participating should submit logo and monogram designs in a vector format to USF at sf.edu/logo-contest. Blue, PMS 288, must be the primary color of the logo.
Contest rules are posted on the USF website.
A redesign committee, led by Zimmer will review the proposals and determine the winners. USF will retain all rights to the winning logo and monogram.
The review and judging process will take place in March and April, with the winners announced in May.

The University of Saint Francis has campuses in Crown Point and Fort Wayne. It recently dedicated a $7 million expansion, which doubled the size its Crown Point campus.
Well, its going to be interesting I would love to compete here, if given chance, the experience I had with LogoCorps was awe-inspiring and I would love to engage myself more into such type of logo competitions.
There are no limits to the scope of logo design, which has now become a very vast field. Many businesses and agencies have created a free Online Logo Creator Tool which makes customizing the editor easier for users.
