South Bend Regional Chamber event connects internship seekers, job hunters with employers

South Bend Regional ChamberThe South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce wants to connect people either seeking an internship or job with employers.

The chamber is presenting its inaugural Connected Career Launch March 24 and March 25 at the Century Center in South Bend. The event will be a platform for high school students from the greater South Bend area, along with adults, to connect with potential employers, as well as education and training programming opportunities.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 24 and March 25. Evening hours are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 24.

The chamber said the program is an avenue for businesses seeking entry-level employees, summer interns and apprentice candidates.

A variety of industry sectors, from manufacturing and construction to hospitality and businesses, will be represented for students to find out more information about career pathways for an assortment of jobs.

The event is meant to build awareness of the variety of educational and career opportunities available in the greater South Bend area, the chamber said. About 2,500 high school students are expected to attend the two-day event.
