HAMMOND – Purdue University Calumet has received a $50,000 donation for its Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation from BP.

The money will be used to acquire equipment and develop a multidisciplinary laboratory where advanced simulation techniques are displayed using 3-D visualization and virtual reality technologies.

“Over the years, Purdue Calumet and BP have collaborated in technology development in ways that improve the quality of life in our region,” said Howard Cohen, chancellor of Purdue Calumet. “This gift, for which we are extremely appreciative, will enable us, through our CIVS facility, to build on our capability of responding to challenges in ways that benefit our region.”
