‘Chamber for chambers’ looking for NWI partners

Leaders in Northwest Indiana are forming NWI United Chambers — a “chamber for chambers.” The initiative will build a network of local chambers and expand regional promotional opportunities.

Only chambers can can be members of NWI United Chambers. Businesses still should seek membership with their local chambers.

“Through this structure, businesses benefit through their local chamber membership,” said Susan Thompson, executive director of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce, in a press release. “When a chamber participates in NWI United Chambers, its members now may have access to expanded networking opportunities. This helps strengthen connections across Northwest Indiana.”

The Hobart Chamber of Commerce and the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce are the founding members of the new organization.

The goal is increased collaboration to grow the Region's economy and give businesses expanded opportunities to share their products and services with a larger audience.

“This initiative reflects a shared commitment among local chambers to collaborate rather than compete,” said Jim Juarez, president of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce. “By working together, we can better promote our local economies while strengthening the broader Northwest Indiana business community.”

Ken Michaels, President of Crown Point Chamber said the mission to help businesses grow is clear.

“The NWI United Chambers exists to elevate our region’s businesses,” he said. “By creating meaningful opportunities for connection, collaboration and visibility, we strengthen the entire business community.”

NWI United Chambers is reaching out to leaders of other chambers to join the movement. Contact NWI United Chambers Inc. at: executivedirector@nwiunitedchambers.com to learn more.
