UChicago Medicine Crown Point will host a community open house Oct. 19.
The Crown Point facility at 10855 Virginia St. officially opened to patients April 29. It includes doctors' offices for youth and adults, a cancer care center, a small inpatient unit and emergency department, imaging center, advanced laboratory services and access to clinical trials. Patient capacity is 110,000 visits a year.
The day will include fun for the family with free food, guided tours and games. Clinicians also will be on site. The open house is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 10855 Virginia St., Crown Point. Parking is free.

- Food trucks and hot cider
- Trick-or-treating (costumes encouraged)
- Giveaways
- Teddy Bear clinic
- Face painting, arts and crafts, and caricature artist
- Music and magician
- Lawn games and fall photobooth
The two-story multispecialty care center is UChicago Medicine's first stand-alone facility in Indiana and the largest outside of the health system's main Hyde Park campus in Chicago. Construction of the facility cost about $121 million.
California-based PMB and Chicago-based Perkins&Will developed and constructed the space.
The University of Chicago Medicine, dating back to 1927, is an academic health system based on the Chicago campus. The Crown Point facility employs about 200 staff members.
