MUNSTER – Calumet Harley-Davidson has received Harley-Davidson’s Silver Bar & Shield Circle of Achievement Award for 2011. The award is based on product sales performance, customer service and satisfaction and other measures. Calumet Harley-Davidson opened in 1993 in Hammond. It moved to Munster in 2002.
GARY – Armstrong AeroMod, which specializes in installing in-flight communications systems, will open an operation at Gary/Chicago International Airport. The company, based in Itasca, Ill., will operate an avionics test center in a hangar owned by the Gary Jet Center. GRIFFITH – Pactiv, a molded fiber plant in Griffith, will close by the end of the year. Pactiv is based in Lake Forest, Ill., which plans to remove equipment from the plant and move it to other locations. The plant, which has 48 employees, makes products for the consumer goods, food service and packaging markets.
