The Kathryn Weil Center for Education, Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health and the Spirit of Women will host the 2016 Spirit of Women Day of Dance “The Power to Boogie”, from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Tippecanoe Mall's Macy's Court and Kohl's Court. The annual Day of Dance inspires area residents to dance for better health. The free event will combine fashion and the fun of dancing to different forms of music, such as square dancing, rock ‘n' roll, jazz, clogging, salsa, swing and hip-hop, with health screenings and consumer education on heart disease and other women's health issues.
Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health's inflatable walk-through Mega Brain and inflatable walk-through colon will be on display. Participants will receive a free water bottle after completing the “Walk a Mile” activity. The Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Heart Center will be giving away one Fitbit as a door prize.
Listed below are a list of departments from Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health that will be in attendance and their booth activity:
– Physicians with Franciscan Physician Network, family medicine and urgent care
– Pediatrics will have a Wii with Just Dance set up for an interactive experience.
– Accountable Care Organization will offer glucose screening.
– St. Elizabeth School of Nursing will offer free cholesterol, blood pressure, body composition and BMI screenings.
– Cardiac Rehab will offer free cardiac risk assessments.
– Kathryn Weil Center for Education will be demonstrating “hands only CPR.”
