MERRILLVILLE – An Alabama software company that provides digital video distribution products to college athletic departments and professional sports franchises has opened an office in the Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana.

DragonFly Athletics LLC was founded by Kirk Miller in 2006. He was previously with the University of Alabama’s athletic department. The company’s chief operating officer is Chad Q. Brown, a graduate of Purdue University.

“Kirk recognized the need for a more efficient way to trade game film,” said Hannah Black, marketing and customer relations director for DragonFly. “By 2009 every single football program competing in the NCAA Bowl Championship Service, previously Division 1-A, and Football Championship Subdivision, previously Division 1-AA, used our exchange software, DragonFly STORM.”

The company also serves NFL franchises, college basketball, lacrosse, soccer and volleyball. DragonFly also has partnered with ESPN and CBS Sports.
