“I look forward to working alongside our port partners to modernize cargo terminals, create good-paying jobs, and fuel the manufacturers, farmers, and small businesses that deliver for the American people.”

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration announced $774 million for 37 projects at ports around the country.

The Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor is a strategic port, 12 hours from 80% of the U.S. population and served by 16 railroads.

“Federal transportation grants have served as catalysts for unprecedented growth in Indiana’s three ports — creating jobs, driving investments and strengthening supply chains,” said Ports of Indiana CEO Jody Peacock. “We look forward to working with Secretary Duffy to advance America’s Maritime Action Plan and further capitalize on the tremendous economic opportunities offered by the Great Lakes and Inland Waterways.”
