Meraki to open Italian restaurant in Crown Point

An Italian eating experience is coming to the Crown Point Square in August. SUGO Italian Kitchen is the latest concept restaurant from Meraki Hospitality Group.

SUGO will feature handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza, along with a few unique dining options.

Children will have the opportunity to build their own pizzas, while adults can enjoy an alcoholic beverage from the eatery's pneumatic cocktail delivery system. Tubes will transport cocktails between floors.

“We wanted to create an Italian restaurant that's special enough for life's biggest moments, but comfortable enough for a Tuesday lunch, a family dinner or a spontaneous night out,” said Chris Pappas, founder and owner of Meraki Hospitality Group, in a press release. “At its heart, SUGO is about hospitality, great food and creating experiences people remember.”

SUGO is the Italian word for sauce. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, and also has space for private events and group dining. They also will offer catering.

Meraki Hospitality Group also manages Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake, Provecho Latin Provisions in Crown Point, Ramen District in Crown Point, Pappas Restaurant in Crown Point, The Grand Catering and Events in Crown Point, and Meraki Mobile.
