Chicago-based Proper Title has expanded further into Northwest Indiana with a downtown Valparaiso office.

The title insurance agency that serves commercial and real estate customers first opened a Region office in Schererville in 2022.

“As we gained more market share in the Region, we realized we needed a presence in Valparaiso to be close to our expanding client base,” said David Zawadzki, executive vice president of business development at Proper Title, in a press release. “Offering conveniently located, modern spaces ensures our closings go smoothly and efficiently, and investing in our office space has proven to be as successful in Indiana as it has been in Illinois.”

The 1,773-square-foot office on the second floor of 175 W. Lincolnway replaces a temporary office that opened two years ago. The new space has two closing rooms, reception area and free parking.

Proper Title also hired two staff for the office: Natalie Coros, senior escrow coordinator, and Miranda Malone, escrow coordinator.

“Natalie and Miranda are detail-oriented, proven title professionals from the local area that bring excellent customer service skills to their roles,” said Kathy Kwak, COO of Proper Title. “Proper Title clients closing in our Valparaiso office will benefit greatly from their prompt, personalized approach.”

With the two new hires, the two Northwest Indiana offices have a total of eight employees. Account Executive Brittany Herbert is the lead salesperson for Northwest Indiana. The Schererville office is at 322 Indianapolis Blvd.

Proper Title, which was founded in 2013, has 14 locations, including the two in Indiana.
