Royal Oak, Michigan-based Wightman hired Nandita Mishra to lead its education team.

Mishra brings 25 years of experience in architecture and interior design to the education sector leader role.

Wightman President Matt Davis said she is the “right person” for the role.

“Her experiences as a teacher, lifelong student, mother, architect and industry expert have formed her foundation of prioritizing and relating to what our clients and their students care about,” said Wightman’s President Matt Davis in a press release.

Mishra's expertise in educational institutions, nonprofits and municipal projects shows a passion for “collaborating with districts to envision and implement transformative solutions, contributing to the evolution of educational environments.”

Mishra is an Accredited Learning Environment Planner through the Association for Learning Environments. She served as the former president of the Michigan chapter, and now is the president of the Midwest region.

She earned a bachelor of architecture degree from L.S. Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai, India, and a Master of Science in interior design from Virginia Tech.

Wightman, which was founded in 1946, is a consulting firm that employs 200 people in Michigan and Indiana, including offices in Portage and South Bend.
