La Porte County Community Corrections recently partnered with HomeWAV to enhance inmate communications.

St. Louis-based HomeWAV provides communication and technology services to correctional facilities across the U.S.

“Our dedication to innovation, securit, and user-friendly technology aligns perfectly with La Porte's mission to improve inmate rehabilitation and overall facility operations,” said Jim DiCenso, director of strategic accounts at HomeWAV, in a press release.

Inmates at La Porte’s facility will have a range of communication services. Tech from HomeWAV will enable voice calls, messaging and scheduling.

The technology will enable inmates to have remote video visitation. Families also can receive alerts when an inmate is available to communicate.

La Porte’s facility will have six interactive kiosks and 30 tablets powered by HomeWAV’s tech. The tablets provide a user-friendly and efficient way for inmates to communicate with their families and friends.

The new tablets will help support rehabilitation programs and aid in reintegration into society. Inmates can also use the tablets to access educational resources through secure digital platforms.

“We are thrilled to welcome La Porte County Community Corrections as a valued facility partner,” DiCenso said.

HomeWAV was founded in 2011. The company’s mission is to make communication with incarcerated loved ones simpler and more cost effective.
