Merrillville-based Travail With Us announced it will offer adult day services.

The services provide seniors and adults with structured, supervised activities designed to encourage engagement.

Alfreida Robins, Travail With Us CEO, said the organization saw a need in the community. The senior population is growing and filled with seniors who are not homebound and are looking for daytime activities. 

“Our services also provide family members the peace of mind that their loved ones are being cared for, their minds are being stimulated and they are having a good time,” Robins said in a press release.

Travail With Us began offering adult day services in November. The new programming helps support caregivers. It provides respite or assistance for a loved one while caregivers are at work or handling other obligations.

“We work closely with our clients to develop a personalized care plan that addresses their loved one's specific needs,” Robins said.

Adult day activities have included interactive exercise games, movie screenings, guest presenters and Bible study. Travail With Us is seeking individuals to present and facilitate activities. The program runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Travail with Us also offers patient transportation services, CNA training and in-home care. The organization has offices in Merrillville and Indianapolis.
