The Crown Point-based Lake County Health Department unveiled its new Mobile Health Clinic Feb. 7.
Dr. Chandana Vavilala, Lake County’s health officer, along with Health Department board members, Lake County officials and community members attended the ribbon cutting event.
The specialized $229,000 vehicle will allow the department to provide its clinic services within local communities. The purchase was made possible with Health First Indiana funding. It enables the department to expand the availability of its services where needed.
The ribbon cutting ceremony took place at noon Feb. 7 at the Lake County Health Department in Crown Point. There was a brief presentation prior to the ribbon cutting. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in an open house tour and demonstration of the mobile clinic and its capabilities.
