The Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council named Old National Bancorp the Local Corporate Member of the Year.
The award was announced at the Mid-States 2024 Annual Awards Luncheon in November at The Heirloom in Indianapolis.
The Mid-States MSDC’s mission is to foster economic growth by driving opportunities and collaboration between corporations and minority businesses.
“Old National Bank recognizes the importance of being intentional about fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in all of our business practices,” says Roland Shelton, Old National chief strategic business partnerships officer, in a press release.
Shelton co-manages the program with Kawn Watters, chief procurement officer.
In 2023, Old National spent $19.1 million with diverse suppliers out of a total $27.3 million spent with small businesses. Diverse suppliers include minority, women and veteran-owned businesses and disadvantaged business enterprises. Old National worked with 143 diverse suppliers last year, with 120 based within Old National’s Midwest and Southeast footprint.
“With the recent passing of our founder, Donald E. Jones, this year’s awardees were thoughtfully selected to honor his legacy of unity and dedication to the prosperity of minority-owned businesses,” Demetrius Glover, Mid-States MSDC president and CEO, said. “Each winner has continuously supported and represented the mission of Mid-States MSDC, allowing our members to continue to thrive.”
Old National Bancorp is the holding company of Old National Bank. Old National serves clients primarily in the Midwest and Southeast. The bank was founded in 1834 in what would become Evansville.
