WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue University will host the annual Indy International Wine Competition Aug. 4-6. Winemakers from around the world will take part.
“We house four experts in the wine industry and this will give us an opportunity to showcase the work we are doing here at Purdue,” said Jeanette Merritt, wine marketing specialist in Purdue’s Department of Food Science.
The competition had been held for 17 years in Indianapolis .
Admission is free and the competition will be at the Purdue Memorial Union. Judging is Aug. 4-5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (EST) and Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon (EST).
More than 3,000 entries from 39 states and 12 countries are expected.
