KNOX – Starke Memorial Hospital is offering grant money to allow qualifying Starke County women to receive free mammograms.
The LaPorte Hospital Foundation received grants from two organizations in 2010 to offer free mammograms to the uninsured and low-income women in Starke County. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Northern Indiana Affiliate awarded $15,000 and the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust Inc., awarded $15,000.
Women who do not have insurance, who are low income and meet other qualification may be eligible for a free mammogram. For information or to check eligibility, call (574) 772-1177.
