SOUTH BEND – South Bend Regional Airport has received a $750,000 grant to establish low-cost westbound service.
The U.S. Department of Transportation grant is being matched by a $475,000 grant from the airport, state and city. The grant also was back by Frontier Airlines, which is expected to establish service from South Bend to its hub in Denver.
The grant is from a fund that was created in 2002 to help small communities continue to attract air service.
