LAPORTE – The LaPorte Hospital Foundation’s ninth annual Tour de LaPorte bike, run and walk event will be Sunday, Aug. 22 at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local cancer patients and their families in need of financial assistance. Last year, Tour de LaPorte raised more than $40,000.
Cyclists may choose routes ranging from five to 100 miles throughout LaPorte County. Runners and non-competitive walkers can use a 5K route; timing will be by T&H Timing and results will be posted online.

Open registration the day of the event is 6 to 10 a.m. Breakfast is available. Runners and walkers must check in by 7:30 a.m.
Cost for the bike race is $25 for adults before Aug. 6; $30 after Aug. 6; $10 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. Cost for the 5K run and walk is $20 for adults before Aug. 6; $25 after Aug. 6; $10 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger.
A mini fun run is at 9:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds for children 4 to 8. Events range from 50 yards, to 200 yards. Entry is $1.
