Purdue hosts global trade seminar

            WEST LAFAYETTE – A conference on global opportunities in supply chain management will be held at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management on Feb. 11.

            “Unleashing the Global Supply Chain” is sponsored by the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative and the Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises.

            The conference includes information  on barriers to accessing new opportunities and how they can be removed; policies or societal factors that may prevent companies from doing business in new frontiers; and how industry can become better informed about the challenges.

            Keynote speaker is Allan Rae, executive director of business systems for American Axle and Manufacturing. Also speaking are Anath Iyer, director of the Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises; Susan Bulkeley Butler, chair of operations management at the Krannert School; Julie A. DeWane, vice president of global supply chain for GE Energy; Jan. C. Fransoo, professor of operations management and logistics at Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands; Greg Fredericksen, executive vice president for purchasing and chief procurement officer for OshKosh; Richard Germain, director of international logistics and supply chain management in the graduate school of management at St. Petersburg State University in Russia; Paul Karon, principal and president of Entrada Group; and Chip Blatchley, professor of civil engineering at Purdue.
