HAMMOND – “Visioning Northwest Indiana: Challenges to Sustainable Economic Development,” will be the topic of Purdue University Calumet’s second faculty lecture to be presented by Amlan Mitra at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 31, in Room 107 of the Gyte Science Building.

The community is invited to attend.

With Northwest Indiana traditionally having relied on manufacturing to nurture its economy, Mitra will present challenges facing the region in identifying and implementing effective economic development and public policy strategies.

“We will discuss how Northwest Indiana can overcome these challenges to create a vibrant economy with a better quality of life and standards of living for its citizens,” said Mitra.
