WESTVILLE – The National POW/MIA flag, along with the American Veterans Traveling Tribute will be at Purdue University North Central from July 3-7.
The 40-foot by 60-foot flag will be hoisted atop a crane being provided by Tonn and Blank Construction Co. The flag is a symbol of concern about U.S. military personnel taken prisoner of war or listed as missing in action.
The Traveling Tribute will give visitors an opportunity to experience an 80-percent scale version of the Vietnam Wall It pays tribute to the men and women who served their country and pays specific tribute to those who gave all – veterans, active military, law enforcement, firefighters, first responders and those lost protecting us from terrorist attacks.
The flag and tribute will be escorted to PNC by a convoy organized by Michigan City’s Steve Moore of The Wall Gang. It will include an escort of local veterans, fire departments, state and local police, bikers and car clubs.
The convoy will form at 9 a.m. on July 3 at Cabela’s in Hammond.
