Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana’s annual Light the Night for Senior Hunger campaign, in partnership with NIPSCO, kicks off Nov. 29 with a luminary and holiday lights lighting ceremony from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will be at Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana, 8446 Virginia St., Merrillville. Light the Night for Senior Hunger is the year-end fundraiser for Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana.
Through donations and support from the community and volunteers, Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to seniors, children, and other adults who need nutritional support.
Northern Indiana Public Service Co. or NIPSCO, which serves approximately 810,000 natural gas and 460,000 electric customers across 32 counties across northern Indiana, will match every donation of $50 or more up to $10,000. The goal is to raise $65,000 for Meals on Wheels, which will cover costs to deliver more than 13,000 meals and wellness checks.
