SOUTH BEND – Spice maker McCormick and Co. will build a 50,000-square-foot distribution center to support its existing operation in South Bend. It will serve customers in the United States and Canada.
The $6 million project will include a refrigerated area.
Mayor Stephen Luecke said McCormick will receive tax abatement for the project.
McCormick has operated at 3425 Lathrop Drive for several years. It has 120 employees and when the expansion is completed, five new workers will be hired.
McCormick is involved in the manufacture and distribution of spices, herbs, seasonings and specialty foods.
