MERRILLVILLE – Lakeshore Public Television’s first-ever Lakeshore Professional Women’s Conference will be held Friday, Sept. 14, at the Radisson Star Plaza in Merrillville. The conference is an all-day event featuring professional development and networking opportunities for women in all levels of the business world.
“This conference is for teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, business owners, administrative assistants, women in sales and marketing, accountants and really any women who are in the workforce. It is a way to share ideas, meet new women and enjoy a wonderful day,” said Barb Oliver, account executive at Lakeshore PTV.
The Lakeshore Professional Women’s Conference features five nationally acclaimed speakers, including the keynote speaker, six-time Emmy award winner Shawne Duperon. She is a PhD candidate and has worked with corporations, entrepreneurs, universities and government agencies across the globe.
The day features breakout sessions by Carolyn Dowd-Higgins, Ellen Rogin, Mary Loverde and Deborah Stephens. Topics include “How to Thrive in the New Normal,” “Think Your Way to Prosperity,” “Inventing a Future that Feels Good,” and “10 Ways Highly Successful Women Lead.”
“Women have come a long way in the work place, and even though professional women have been successful in climbing the ladder, we still have many common issues to face. The goals of the Lakeshore Professional Women’s Conference is to provide high level professional development addressing those issues while connecting business women across Northwest Indiana,” said Wende Burbridge, director of sales and marketing at Lakeshore PTV.
NIPSCO is providing a catered lunch for attendees and the day will conclude with a networking reception hosted by Schepel Auto Group.
