RDC Donates to Jasper County Economic Development

VALPARAISO — The Regional Development Company (RDC) has donated to further economic development in Jasper County, IN.

“The Regional Development Company is a proud supporter of the economic development efforts by the Jasper County Economic Development Organization,” said Erica Dombey, president and executive director of the RDC.  “We have a long tradition of giving back to the communities of Northwest Indiana to assist with job creation and growth.  The contribution of $1,000 this year is evidence of that commitment.”

The RDC administers the US Small Business Administration 504 loans.  The SBA 504 loan program was created as an economic development tool to create jobs and assist small businesses in creating capital investment in commercial real estate and equipment.  The program allows businesses to put as little as 10% down on the purchase of owner occupied commercial property.  “Business owners can also use the equity inherent in their commercial property to finance 100% of the cost of an expansion, which can be vital to retaining an existing business in a community,” Dombey stated.

“The Regional Development Company and the loans they make to local businesses in conjunction with the Small Business Administration’s 504 program are vitally important to the economic well-being of Jasper County and the entire Northwest Indiana region.  Their loans provide companies with long-term, capital asset financing that is crucial to growth and profitability.  We appreciate the RDC’s generous contribution to JEDCO and will utilize the funds to support out business outreach activities,” said Kevin Kelly, president of the Jasper County Economic Development Organization, Inc.
