INDIANAPOLIS – A touch of Ireland will descend on Indianapolis and the SportZone athletic complex on Wednesday, Jan. 12, with the indoor hurling championship will be held.
Six teams will compete and there will be Irish music, skills competitions for fans and drink specials. Admission is $3.
SportZone and the Indianapolis Hurling Club are sponsoring the event which includes three matches between local teams named for premier hurling counties of Ireland: Dublin, Tipperary, Galway, Cork, Kilkenny and Waterford. Competition begins at 7 p.m.
Hurling, the national sport of Ireland, combines elements of lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and baseball.
