Northwest Indiana Business News LogoSOUTH BEND – Michael E. Schrage, President and CEO of Centier Bank, is pleased to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Centier Bank’s newest location in Michiana, with an in-store banking branch positioned inside South Bend Meijer.

Schrage commemorated the ribbon cutting with a $500 community donation to The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. He was joined at the ceremony by Jeff Rea, President of the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce and Paul Szrom, Development Director of the Kroc Salvation Army Center.

The branch represents the 57th banking location across the state and the eighth in the Michiana region for Centier Bank. Earlier in 2017, Centier opened locations in downtown South Bend, Granger, and Goshen joining branches in Elkhart, Plymouth, La Porte, and Mishawaka.  The new South Bend Meijer location will offer clients a convenient, one-stop shop for their banking needs, along with 24-hour banking through Centier’s EZ Deposit ATM.

“I’m thrilled to see another Centier Bank location opening up in the Michiana region. Centier is built on a foundation of family values and is truly focused on being a community bank in every sense of the term,” explained Amber Pulford, Assistant Vice President and Regional Sales Manager at Centier. “This South Bend Meijer location will continue to allow us to serve the South Bend and Michiana communities as only we can.”

Founded in 1895 in Whiting, Indiana, Centier Bank is the largest, private, family-owned bank in Indiana and remains committed to being owned and operated by the Schrage family for generations to come.  The Bank has been named “Best Bank for Business” for the past 15 years by the Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly publication and was listed on the Indiana Chamber’s “Best Places to Work” list for the past 11 years.  Centier Bank is a growing community bank with assets over $3.8 billion and a legal lending limit greater than $60 million.

“We are a bank that is focused on serving the communities in which we serve and this latest opening allows us to serve the Michiana region,” said Sheila Sieradzki, Vice President of Community Relations and Business Development at Centier Bank. “Whether it is through philanthropic donations like today, workplace financial education programs or community service, we are committed to a long and strong future here in Michiana.”

Centier Bank’s South Bend Meijer branch is located at 3600 N. Portage Road in South Bend and will be open Monday through Friday from 10:00am until 6:00pm EST, along with Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm EST.
