Advisors named for Purdue Technology Center

MERRILLVILLE – The Purdue Technology Center of Northwest Indiana has named 10 new members to its advisory council, joining 13 other business and education professionals, said Kathy DeGuilio-Fox, director of the center.

            “These leaders strengthen our mission to aid entrepreneurs in developing their companies. Bringing together these diverse professionals is a fine example of how leaders in Northwest Indiana and Chicago are working together to build and keep our economy strong,” said DeGuilio-Fox.

            The 23-member council includes Mike Baird, a community leader from Valparaiso; David Bochnowski, president and CEO of Peoples Bank, Munster; Thomas Boyt, dean of the Valparaiso University College of Business Administration; Chuck Carlson, CEO of Dow Theory Forecasts, Hammond; Howard Cohen, council chairman, Hammond; Gregory Deason, Purdue Research Foundation vice president for real estate and research park development, West Lafayette; Kathy DeGuilio-Fox, Crown Point; Steve Deppe, president of A.J. Antunes & Co., St. Charles, Ill.; Martine Duchatelet, dean of Purdue University Calumet’s School of Management, Hammond; John Hanak, statewide director of Purdue Technology Centers, Indianapolis; David Hodde, director of Purdue Research Foundation’s real estate and facilities, West Lafayette; Joseph B. Hornett, Purdue Research Foundation senior vice president, treasurer and COO, West Lafayette; Robert E. Johnson III, president of CIMCOR, Merrillville; Niaz Latif, dean of Purdue University Calumet’s School of Technology, Hammond; Mark Maassel, president and CEO of Northwest Indiana Forum, Portage; Stephen Massa, senior partner and co-founder of Golden Technologies, Valparaiso; Stewart McMillan, president of Task Force Tips, Valparaiso; Jill Ritchie, manager of U.S. Steel Corp.’s public police and governmental affairs, Gary; Jon Schmaltz, partner, Burke, Costanza & Cuppy, Valparaiso; John Sydnor, president and COO of Melvin Securities, Chicago; LeAnne Tourtellotte, vice president of Illinois Technology Association, Chicago; Tim Trela, principal, Trela and Associates, Munster; and Nick Wilson, president of Morrison Container Handling Solutions, Glenwood, Ill.

            The Purdue Research Park of Northwest Indiana sits on 386 acres just west of Interstate 65 in Merrillville . The 48,000-square-foot center has 11 technology-based tenants and has 60 employees.
