Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Applied Imaging has expanded into Indiana through two business acquisitions.

The office technology products and services company in December purchased Advanced Imaging Solutions, which is headquartered in South Bend with locations in Fort Wayne and Merrillville. Applied also acquired Sands Office Equipment Service in Warsaw, south of Goshen.

Representatives for Applied Imaging said the acquired companies will operate under its name and brand but all personnel with each business will be retained.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity to work with Indiana businesspeople and to help them navigate the future with our innovative technology solutions,” said John Lowery, president and CEO of Applied Imaging. “They’ll discover the best of both worlds with Applied Imaging, a company that maintains a family atmosphere yet is large enough to handle all their office technology needs.”

Lowery launched Applied Imaging in 1987, which today employs more than 450 people. In addition to its new Indiana operations in South Bend, Merrillville and Fort Wayne, the company’s Michigan locations include Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Lansing, Traverse City, Flint, Petoskey, Alpena, Southfield and Ann Arbor.

Applied Imaging also has locations in Toledo, Ohio and Tampa, Florida.
