A $1.5 million investment has revived the former Golden Sands Motel in Michigan City.

Now operating as the 4411 Inn & Suites on U.S. 12, the hotel has undergone extensive renovations, according to the Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Ind. The hotel was purchased by the NADR Group in 2017.

Nazar Kryvko and Andriy Mykolyshyn, who lead the NADR Group, said they appreciated the city's assistance to reopen the hotel and complete the project.

“It is rare to find a city that creates so many opportunities and stays true to its commitments,” Kryvko said. “We would not be here if not for the city's economic development agency and the mayor's office desire to help local communities and businesses.”

NADR Group worked with the general contractor NAAM Inc., led by Vitaliy Kolyadov, and Nadia Gordon Designs on the renovations.

“Michigan City continues to attract investors who are making huge investments to improve our community,” said Mayor Ron Meer. “My administration worked closely with the Michigan City Common Council and the Sanitary district to approve the funds and install the sewer lines for this project. These are the type of transformative projects I will continue to work on to create opportunities and improve Michigan City for our residents.”
