Four Ivy Tech Community College students and three Ivy Tech programs have been selected for Awards for Excellence from the Indiana Department of Education.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Feb. 26 at the Indiana Government Center Auditorium.
“Ivy Tech is honored to see such an outstanding list of students and programs being recognized by the Indiana Department of Education,” said Sue Ellspermann, Ivy Tech president. “We are also thrilled to see students and programs at other schools be recognized, because education for technical programs is a must as we collectively work together to support, educate and train future employees in these critical economic industries. Congratulations to all of the winners.”
The Indiana Career and Technical Education Awards for Excellence program recognizes career and technical education students, programs, active partnerships, which contribute to high-quality career and technical education, guidance/career services displaying excellence in Indiana, and outstanding contributors to careers in technical education in Indiana.
Ivy Tech’s recipients of the Award for Excellence for Outstanding Career and Technical Education Student include:
- Megan Burgdorf, Medical Assisting program, Michigan City campus
- Lisa Hamrick, Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology program, Evansville campus
- Jamie Smith, Industrial Technology/Electrical program, Marion campus
- Amanda Todd, Nursing program, Bloomington campus
Ivy Tech’s recipients of the Award for Excellence for Outstanding Career and Technical Education Program include:
- Design Technology, Indianapolis campus
- CNC Operator Program with National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Certification, Terre Haute campus
- Cyber Security/Information Assurance Program, Valparaiso campus
